Dr. Tom Marrs is a licensed psychologist and an expert in the use of applied psychology. Marrs applies his psychological background with a specialty in sports psychology to the Tourism &More team. Marrs is a former coach of the US National Olympic Development Team for Sport Shooting. As part of his work, Marrs has traveled extensively in Africa, Oceania, Europe, and the Americas. Marrs has worked on both the athletic and administrative side of his sport and through his sports work brings valuable business acumen to the Tourism & More team.
Marrs received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, where he works with the Employee Assistance Program providing services to over 10,000 ethnically and socio-economically diverse faculty and staff. In this capacity, Marrs provides clinical services as well as facilitating focus groups, supervisory and communications training, and mediation for the various university departments.
Marrs is a specialist in human resources and organizational psychology, with specific knowledge in communication techniques, management efficacy, dealing with difficult employees, conflict management and resolution, and drug and alcohol issues.
